Design concept for Samsung’s Galaxy S10 that reimagines the phone UI and UX for a seamless and holistic experience that merges the device with the brand — reimagining everything from the app icons to the scrolling interactions.

The wallpaper acts as a data visualizer that the user assigns (ex. weather, activity, social media, etc.) while reinforcing the Galaxy’s brand equity. The rich black background uses the full capabilities of the OLED display to create a seamless blend between hardware and software.

The app icons reference the
The app icons reference the Light and Line concept developed at Pentagram, but use solid forms instead that are easier to differentiate. Simplified utility icons are also developed to be used at small sizes.

Samsung Sharp Sans is used for signature typographic gestures (clock, weather widget), headers and all numbers. Sharp Sans is used for smaller typography, offering better legibility and a wider variety of weights.

Throughout the phone, the UI is simplified where possible, creating more hierarchy to bring forward the most important focus points. The UI is adjusted to better suit a user’s finger reach — with the most clicked on functionalities brought to the bottom of the screen for a smoother interaction with the large device.
